Emil Fisher, Nobel Laureate, was born on this day in 1852. Known for his contributions in the area of Chemistry. His key contributions include: Fisher Esterification; Developed new methods to understand sugars, purines, and enzymes better that led to better understanding of proteins. Emil Fisher's life was cut short due to suicide after losing his wife, and two of his three sons quite young.

Josephine was a socialite, and had a prosperous early married life with her husband. 5. But, lost her husband to alcohol at the age of 44 with a family debt of around $1500+. 6.
