Happy Global Day of Parents !!!

Initiated by UN, and celebrated every June 1st since 2012.

In this changing world, it has become more and more important to appreciate those parents, whose lives change completely after the birth of a child, working towards providing the best for their child/children.

We will also look at some interesting facts connected to parenthood.

For example, kids of happily married parents have a higher likelihood to show better child outcomes compared to lone parent and non-married families. This is not to undermine the role of a single parent, but longer historical data tends to support this observation.

Whether such child outcomes matter in children giving back to parents during their good old days, that is a different question, and we will try to address that as well throughout today.

#OTD in 1886 Josephine Cochrane, a woman inventor from Shelbyville, Illinois, USA was issued the dishwashing machine patent, which also ended up becoming the first commercially successful dishwashing machine. Interesting Facts about Ms. Josephine Cochrane: 1. Born as Josephine M. Garis in 1839, in Ashtabula County, Ohio. 2. Josephine was raised in Shelbyville, Illinois, and got married to William Cochran in 1858. 3. Josephine was also the grand daughter of John Fitch, who was known for steam boat related inventions. 4. Josephine was a socialite, and had a prosperous early married life with her husband. 5. But, lost her husband to alcohol at the age of 44 with a family debt of around $1500+. 6.
